The Characters

Warning: Spoilers ahead. I recommend reading the first book before this.

Sebastien Dearil

Sebastien, the last surviving member of the Dearil crime family (an infamous criminal enterprise operating all throughout England) was abruptly thrust into the world of The Lower Realm, finding himself dead from the fall into the depths. Fortunately- or rather, unfortunately- he was revived by a being known as ‘The Plagiarist’ and found himself reborn in a patchwork body… unable to die. His goal? Save the world from The Plagiarist’s prophecy, which foretells of a great catastrophe to both realms: the Lower Realm… and the Surface.

Sincarion Nyxshame – Minister of Stoneyork

The most widely-known and feared Minister, Sincarion Nyxshame, is the Minister of Culture, Entertainment, and Medicine, and also the Minister of Stoneyork. Brother to Custodo Nyxshame, head of the Nyxshame Company, his funds are just as limitless as his vicious desire for power.

His body appears eerily distorted: his long, thin legs look like spindly sticks, his sharp fingers like the talons of an eagle. He hides a secret direly important to himself- something which Sebastien is determined to find out.

Custodo Nyxshame – Minister of Sub-London

The obese brother and accomplice of Sincarion, Custodo is just as much of a deadly force to be reckoned with. As the head of the Nyxshame Company and Minister of Sub-London, Custodo has complete control over Sub-Albion’s industries, and uses it to fulfil his everlasting hunger for wealth. But wealth isn’t the only thing he hungers for…

Dorcha (- Nyxshame, to some.)- Minister of Nachtpool

The most proficient blaichor manipulator in all of Sub-Albion, Dorcha, adopted daughter of Sincarion, is the Minister of Nachtpool. She presides over the Blaichoric Academy there, tearing apart its reputation to fuel her own bloody research. Dark ambitions lie behind her childish hunt for knowledge…

Seis – Minister of Burhningham

There is no man in Sub-Albion who can spark as much primal fear on the battlefield as Seis, the black armoured tank. Three times the size of an ordinary man and encased in a suit of blaichor, this Minister is an unstoppable force of destruction. A famous tale suggests why he has a massive crater in the side of his cuirass – he was shot with a cannon… and lived. But will his knight’s spirit remain unbroken forever? Or will the beast of battle consume him from the inside out?

Emiliath Grystaine – Minister of Blaichester

A bastard daughter of the ruined Grystaine Royal Family, Emiliath lives her life worshipping The Familia’s pantheon of Gods. Considered to be the least vicious of all the Ministers, Emiliath is shackled down by the retainers of her defunct royal lineage, forever cursed to live in the shadow of those who gouge on their properties like parasites. But she, along with her brother, Cain Grystaine, want free of these shackles – by any means necessary. Even if it means collaborating with the infamous ‘Hangman’.
